Campuswide Wifi 6E Enhancements:

We are thrilled to announce a significant enhancement to our campus infrastructure that will directly benefit every member of our community. Starting in December 2023, the Division of IT will begin working on a multi-year project that extends until January 2027 and is dedicated to enhancing and expanding WiFi coverage areas spanning 150 buildings across the campus.

What to Expect:

• Faster Speeds: The upgraded WiFi network will provide faster and more reliable internet speeds, ensuring a smoother online experience for all users.
• Enhanced Coverage: The new infrastructure will extend WiFi coverage to previously underserved areas, ensuring a more comprehensive network throughout each building.
• State-of-the-Art Technology: Our upgraded system will leverage the latest in 6e wireless technology, ensuring compatibility with current and future devices.

Schedule:

The first phase of upgrades will began during the week of December 18 and expected to be completed by August 2024. The first phase includes implementing WiFi upgrades in 27 buildings across our university campus. During this period, there may be brief interruptions to the WiFi service in these buildings as the upgrades are implemented. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding as we work to enhance our campus technology infrastructure.
