Follow Prompts to Restart your Computer for Windows Upgrades

To keep your University workstations secure, up to date with Microsoft patches and running on the latest operating system, the Division of IT will be pushing patches out once a month and operating system updates annually.

You will see a pop-up on your Windows computer for patches and operating system updates.  Operating system messaging started February 2 and will continue through April 2, 2021. The pop-up box will prompt you to upgrade Windows 10 to version 20H2.  Please choose an option for installation that works for you; we strongly encourage users to install this at the end of your workday or on a weekend.

Microsoft monthly patching will begin in February on the third Tuesday of the month.  For example, the patches will be delivered to your computer on Tuesday February 16. If you have not rebooted your computer prior to Tuesday February 23, the computer will be automatically reboot at 7 p.m.  It is best for you to reboot your computer at your convenience prior to February 23.
