SnapGene

New Changes!

Our updated licensing model is based on unique users rather than the Legacy subscription. Registration codes and group names are no longer needed; the Software Administrators simply email invitations to reserve seats for each user. Each user can activate SnapGene on two devices but must use the latest version to switch to this model.

If you’d like more details about how the new licensing method works, you can view our new FAQ articles that outline the new activation process (click here) and how to manage the Standard licenses (click here).

Please note: When the Software Sales team resolves these requests, a knowledge base article will be attached to the ticket. This article includes step-by-step instructions and screenshots for easy reference.

License Period: October 24 – October 23

SnapGene offers the fastest and easiest way to plan, visualize, and document DNA cloning and PCR. You can easily annotate features and design primers.

Deactivated Devices: The software sales team regularly conducts audits of the license portal, removing users not listed in the billing record for the current license period. If you receive a notification indicating that your account has been deactivated and believe this is an error, please use the following link to submit an inquiry. Include details such as the purchase date, location (via the university ticket system or Kivuto-The Hub), and the service request/order number. A member of the software sales team will investigate the issue:  Software Sales Inquiry Form. Thank you for understanding.

License Policy

All licenses are based on the stated license period, regardless of the date they were purchased. This means that in order to maintain access, they must be renewed annually. Please ensure you keep track of your renewal dates to avoid any interruptions in service.

It is the policy of the University of Missouri to honor software license agreements and to require all users to do likewise. The Division of Information Technology will not knowingly assist, or permit its equipment to be used, in violation of such agreements. The software must not be copied for someone else or loaned to someone else for them to copy.

The license agreement expires upon the termination of the user’s affiliation with the University of Missouri.
