Software Sales
SnapGene
Upcoming Changes!
Our updated licensing model is based on unique users rather than the Legacy subscription. Registration codes and group names are no longer needed; the Software Administrators simply email invitations to reserve seats for each user. Each user can activate SnapGene on two devices but must use the latest version to switch to this model.
If you’d like more details about how the new licensing method works, you can view our new FAQ articles that outline the new activation process (click here) and how to manage the Standard licenses (click here).
Please note: Any requests submitted after October 16, 2025 will be placed on hold and processed once the renewal is complete. If your SnapGene request is not submitted by the stated deadline, you may experience a disruption in service.
License Period: October 24 – October 23
SnapGene offers the fastest and easiest way to plan, visualize, and document DNA cloning and PCR. You can easily annotate features and design primers.

Additionally, note that personal purchases are not reimbursed by the software sales department.
Activation Details: SnapGene can only be installed on one computer at a time, meaning you can only activate it on one device; if you need to use it on multiple computers, you need to purchase additional licenses for each device. Licenses may be transferred to another user and/or computer by submitting a service request with all the relevant details. After October 23rd, 2025 users will be able to install SnapGene on two devices.
Deactivated Devices: The software sales team regularly conducts audits of the license portal, removing computers not listed in the billing record for the current license period. If you receive a notification indicating that your device has been deactivated and believe this is an error, please use the following link to submit an inquiry. Include details such as the purchase date, location (via the university ticket system or Kivuto-The Hub), and the service request/order number. A member of the software sales team will investigate the issue: Software Sales Inquiry Form. Thank you for understanding.

All licenses are based on the stated license period, regardless of the date they were purchased. This means that in order to maintain access, they must be renewed annually. Please ensure you keep track of your renewal dates to avoid any interruptions in service.
