SAML Single Sign-On

To work towards modernizing software licensing for Esri-ArcGIS, MU DoIT recently enabled SAML single sign-on setup for the ArcGIS Online portal – allowing students to sign in using their University of Missouri credentials from any computer.

When you visit the portal, you will see a login screen and be able to log in with your login credentials by using SSO, unless you have an existing account. All new user accounts will be created using this method.

*Any existing accounts can still log in using the ArcGIS login method. These accounts will be phased out/transferred over time.

Special Note

If you had an Esri account before SSO was enabled, please follow this link for instructions on how to access the information from your existing account. You must link the old account to the one our system creates when you sign into SSO

Recent Changes:
  • Date Change: To reduce disruptions with finals, we will be moving the Esri renewal to May. The current renewal will be from 12/12/2024 through 05/24/2026.
  • Pro: This offers users an extended license period for this first year.  With a Named User license, you can use ArcGIS Pro on up to three computers at the same time.
  • Con: Enterprise or specialized license files will need to be reissued 05/25/2025 for the 05/25/25-5/24/26 license term. Users will not be charged an additional fee, but there are dates written in the code of the license files that will require reinstallation.
  • ArcMap – Going Away: Being discontinued by Esri, this will not be available as of 12/11/2024. Users are encouraged to switch to ArcGIS Online-Professional Plus.
