Faculty & Staff Email


All MU faculty and staff receive an official university email address. All university communications are sent to this account. The maximum message size is 25 MB for both inbound and outbound messages.


All official university communications are sent to this address. The address book is fully integrated with the university’s Global Address List so that students have easy access to all faculty, staff and student University email addresses.

Office 365 for education may be accessed from any web browser and many popular email programs, such as Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Entourage, and Mozilla Thunderbird, and is compatible with both Windows and Macintosh Computers.

Your mailbox quota, or storage limit, is 25 GB. As you near or exceed the quota, you will receive the following notifications:

  • 24.5 GB — you will receive a warning that your mailbox is approaching the size limit.
  • 24.75 GB — you will be unable to send email.
  • Over 25 GB — you will be unable to send or receive email.

Be sure to regularly delete unneeded email so that you remain under the quota!


There are no fees associated with this service.


Email is available for all faculty/staff and can be personalized.

Get Started

There are several options available for accessing email on and off campus. Application based email clients like Outlook provide many convenient features needed for daily academic and administrative work.  Webmail makes off-campus access quick and easy with similar but somewhat limited functionality.


Recommended use: on- or off-campus access when full functionality is needed including calendaring and other functionality on your primary email device.

Available on: Windows, MacOS, iOS, and Android 


Recommended use: on and off campus access when a fully functional email client is not needed or on shared access computers.

Available on: Any computer with a web browser and an internet connection.
