IMPORTANT NOTE: The ID office will be offline for a scheduled upgrade September 12, 2022 07:00 AM –  September 14 5:00 PM and will not be able to print IDs. We appreciate your patience during this process.

The Mizzou TigerCard is the campus-issued identification card used for ID badges, student ID's, and to access many campus services.

LOST CARD: Login with your university credentials to http://tigercardmanager.missouri.edu to disable a lost card. Click on Report Lost Card 

Preferred names may be used on MU TigerCards. Students should update their information in myZou. Additionally, any University employee (including student employees) must work with their Human Resources representative to enter their preferred name into PeopleSoft HR. If you are an emplyee and a MU student and have a preferred name in myZou, but do not want to update your PeopleSoft HR record, let us know and we will pull your preferred name from myZou. 

  • If you find the card, login again and click Report Found Card.  
  • If not, come to the ID Office for a replacement card.

The ID Card Office is located on the lower level of The Mizzou Store located inside the MU Student Center.

Regular Semester Hours are Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Additional Back-to-School hours include:

  • Saturday, August 13: 8:30 – 5 p.m.
  • Sunday, August 14: Noon – 5 p.m.
  • Saturday, August 20:  10 – 6 p.m.
  • Sunday, August 21: 10 - 6 p.m.

Interim (between Fall and Spring semesters) and Summer hours are Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The office is closed all University holidays, during Administrative Campus Closure Winter Break (December 24-January 2), and Spring Break.  We also close at 3 p.m. on any business day prior to a holiday. 

Holiday office hours go in effect beginning December 20 – 23 and January 3-14. During this time, our office will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. We will open from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. the weekend of January 15-17. On Tuesday, Jan.18, we will resume our regular business hours.

Your TigerCard (MU ID) is your official University of Missouri identification and gives you access to many resources and facilities on campus.

Students use their TigerCard to:

  • Purchase non-academic items/services at all Campus Dining Services locations, the Mizzou Store, Mizzou Recreation, A.L. Gustin Golf Course, Print & Mail Services, Buck's Ice Cream and the Mizzou Meat Market with prepaid Tiger Cash funds.
  • Do laundry in residence halls (hall residents only)
  • Charge books and other educational expenses at The Mizzou Store
  • Enter the MizzouRec Complex (if student activity fee is paid)
  • Check out materials from all MU Libraries
  • Clock into campus jobs

Faculty and staff can use their TigerCard to:

  • Enter the MU Recreation Center (with paid membership)
  • Purchase meals and snacks at 21 Campus Dining locations with Gold Cash (activation required)
  • Receive a 10 percent discount on purchases at The Mizzou Store and Team Store
  • Charge medications at the MU pharmacy (75% FTE or more)
  • Check out materials from all MU Libraries
  • Clock into campus jobs

Replacement for lost or stolen IDs is $25.00, payment is made by student charge, payroll deduction, or MoCode.

Note: In FY22 changes were made to the way some IT costs are distributed to the campus. We've added IT costs for some our services to the MU Allocation Model. As a result of the change, all expenses included in the FY22 MU allocation model are assigned to each entity based on their percentage of expenses to the total and then that amount is deducted from their annual General Revenue Allocation. For example, if the School of Music accounts for 10% of overall expenses, they will be assigned 10% of the IT expenses and the GRA allocation is reduced accordingly. This reduction is done BEFORE the allocation is transferred to the entity.

 **Please Note: Data Network monthly charges are included in the allocation model, but activation and installation charges still apply.

REQUIRED DOCUMENTATION: To ensure campus safety, you must present both of these identification forms prior to receiving your first MU TigerCard:

  • Employee or Student ID number, as displayed in myHR and/or myZou.
  • Valid U.S. Government-issued photo ID (driver’s license, military ID, passport, state ID, watermarked temporary Driver’s Licenses, etc.).

Students are eligible for ID cards within 33 days of the start of the semester in which they are enrolled (with courses appearing in myZou) or have an active MU housing contract.

  • Student Legal Name must be associated in myZou as their Primary Name.
  • To further ensure campus safety your LEGAL NAME must be associated with your myZou account.
    • Check in myZou.  The form to change your name is here.  This must be completed at least five business days prior to obtaining your first MU Student ID.   

Faculty ID cards are issued up to 30 days prior to employment start date, once the Personnel Action Form (PAF) has been completed by the hiring department and up to 48 hours after the appointment appears in PeopleSoft webapps. 

Staff ID cards are issued on or after the employment start date, once the Personnel Action Form (PAF) has been completed by the hiring department and up to 48 hours after the employee has provided I-9 documents, in person, at MU Human Resources in Jesse Hall. 

Visiting faculty and staff should work with their sponsoring department to complete a courtesy PAF and up to 48 hours after the appointment appears in PeopleSoft Webapps. An ID can be issued after your start date.

MU Health Care employees are issued a specific hospital identification badge by Hospital Human Resources. This badge is accepted campus-wide and is automatically activated for campus use.

ID Photo Submission:

  • Log in to idcardmanager.missouri.edu
  • Select Notification Preferences
    •  This will determine where notifications will be sent regarding accept, reject, etc. notifications of submitted photos.
    • IMPORTANT:  If a mobile phone is listed, please enable it to receive texts from unknown numbers.
  • Student reads about Name Requirement.  (see FAQ, below)
  • Student works to list ID Document name as myZou Primary Name.
  • Upload image of ID Document. (See Acceptable ID Documents, below)
  • Submit photo according to guidelines. (See Photo Guidelines, below)
    • When uploading Acceptable ID Document, you will be able to see it on the page.  If you don’t see your ID Document, it wasn’t successfully uploaded.
    • Acceptable ID Document must be uploaded in one of the follow file formats, .jpg, .jpeg, or .png.

Users may click VIEW MY PHOTOS to follow the photo’s progression from Pending to Accepted

  • Pending: ID Document was not uploaded successfully, or photo has not been reviewed, yet.
  • Rejected: Resubmit photo
  • Approved: Submitted photo is the official photo of record, for MU ID card

ACCEPTABLE ID Documents: The ID Document must be a US Government-issued Photo ID. Examples include Driver’s License; watermarked paper copy of a Driver’s License, issued for use, until your Driver’s License arrives; Passport; Immigration card; etc.

PHOTO GUIDELINES:

  • Head must face straight at camera, filling most of the frame, well-lit, with solid background.
  • Prescription glasses must leave the eye fully visible.
  • Religious head coverings are permitted.
  • Hats, sunglasses, hands, other people or objects, unnatural expressions are prohibited.

NOTE: If you encounter an issue submitting a photo for the MU student ID creation process, there are a few options to try:

  • For an error about a stale request, open the browser in "incognito mode" and log in to the site: idcardmanager.missouri.edu.
  • If you are using an iOS device to capture the images of your photo and ID Document, be sure to go to settings, then camera, then formats and change the camera format to “MOST COMPATIBLE”.  Then, capture the image leaving plenty of extra space around the top portion of the photo.
  • If you are having issues submitting the photo, and are using a desktop or laptop and do not see a pop-up box that allows you to crop and submit your photo, you may need to scroll to the top of the page to see the box (depending on your screen size).
