About
All computer purchases should be initiated by contacting your Department’s IT Pro’s. Your Department IT Pro will serve as your point of contact in acquiring your computer purchase, leveraging UM System contracts with Dell and Apple.
Details
The Division of IT has several standard recommendations for computer models and configurations that meet almost every type of usage. The recommended setup should include a laptop, dock, two monitors or desktop (as needed by exception). Please work with your Department IT Pro for best practices. Below is a list of standards that represent excellent options for most faculty and staff:

Pricing depends on quantity and model chosen.
Dell Premier Partnership – The University and Dell Inc. offer the Dell Premier Partnership to MU students, faculty, and staff. This partnership allows the MU community to take advantage of special discount pricing on Dell laptop and desktop computers. (For personal purchases, please visit the Dell Premier Online Portal. DoIT is also part of the Dell Bulk buy program, this buy program coordinates purchases on a quarterly basis for all University of Missouri departments. Consolidated purchasing provides the opportunity to capitalize on savings through additional quantity and volume discounts beyond the contractual savings offered by Dell on individual orders.
