Our learning objectives for Part A are:
Learning the Concepts of SAS Programming, which includes explaining the basic functionality of SAS, identifying the file types used in SAS, and identifying a SAS program file and its components.
Reading a Raw Data File with the DATA Step, which includes planning to read a raw data file, and coding to read a raw data file with column input.
Navigating the SAS Windowing Environment, which includes defining the SAS windowing environment, identifying the three primary SAS programming windows, editing and executing SAS code, and saving and retrieving SAS code.
There is no prerequisite for Part A, but Parts B and C are necessary to complete the course. Please note that this is the same course as SAS Syntax Basics (a full day course) and SAS Syntax Basics Parts 1 and 2 (two half-day courses).
