NVivo Licensing Update – Final Centralized Renewal

As part of our review of NVivo usage and licensing costs, we have determined that continuing a centralized licensing model is not sustainable. Beginning July 6, 2026, NVivo will no longer be offered through a centralized purchase.

This change does not mean NVivo is being discontinued or unsupported; it simply shifts licensing responsibility from a system-wide model to individual departments. Please coordinate with your IT Pro.

For the current license year, which ends on July 5, 2026, NVivo licenses will continue to be sold and distributed through the Software Sales team to ensure uninterrupted access for faculty and staff. After this period, departments wishing to continue using NVivo will need to purchase licenses directly working with their IT Pro.

How to Order

University Device Purchases: To use a department MoCode to purchase a license for a university device, click the button below to be redirected to the service portal. Enter your SSO ID and password, then use the selection buttons on the right for easy navigation.

Student Licenses for Personal Devices: Students may purchase a personal NVivo license directly from Lumivero for $118.00 using this link.

License Policy

It is the policy of the University of Missouri to honor software license agreements and to require all users to do likewise. The Division of Information Technology will not knowingly assist, or permit its equipment to be used, in violation of such agreements. The software must not be copied for someone else or loaned to someone else for them to copy.

The license agreement expires upon the termination of the user’s affiliation with the University of Missouri.
