CoPilot is an AI-powered productivity tool integrated into Microsoft 365 apps like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams. It provides real-time intelligent assistance to enhance creativity, productivity, and skills.
Important:
The software on this page has been reviewed and approved for lower-level data use.
Microsoft CoPilot (Premium) has IT Compliance approval for Data Classification Levels 3 only (See the UM System Data Classification page for more information).
If you are using these tools for business, research or academic use and the data moves into DCL4 Highly Restricted data is used you must enter an IT compliance review ticket for your specific software use and receive approval.
If you need to consult, please ask your IT professional or someone from the IT Compliance team for further assistance.

Note: CoPilot is not approved for use at MU Health Care. Individuals part of MUHC should refrain from using or purchasing CoPilot.
Individuals part of the MU School of Medicine, the MU Sinclair School of Nursing and the MU College of Health Sciences, as well as anyone who accesses protected health information must follow these guidelines:
- Data Restrictions

Do not discuss, enter or upload DCL-4 data, including, but not limited to protected health information (PHI) and social security numbers while in meetings being recorded by Teams Premium.

Do not enter or upload any health information, including de-identified data.

De-Identified Data Sets must be certified by MUHC Information Security, per MUHC policy.

Prompts may not include DCL-4 data (such as patient names, medical record numbers, social security numbers, date of birth, date of procedure/treatment).
- Do not use or enable default and/or 3rd party connectors or apps, unless you have documented approval from MUHC Information Security.
