A leading screen reader developed by Freedom Scientific for users who are blind or visually impaired. It provides speech and Braille output for the most popular computer applications on Windows, enabling users to navigate the internet, write documents, read emails, and create presentations.

The software on this page has been reviewed and approved for lower-level data use.
JAWS has IT Compliance approval for Data Classification Level 1 only (See the UM System Data Classification page for more information).
If you are using these tools for business, research or academic use and the data moves into student coursework or activities with Sensitive, Restricted, and/or Highly Restricted data is used you must enter an IT compliance review ticket for your specific software use and receive approval. If you need to consult, please ask your IT professional or someone from the IT Compliance team for further assistance

It is the user’s responsibility to protect university resources and data by ensuring that you use software in compliance with relevant university policies and standards, store and process all sensitive data within approved systems, and ensure equitable access to information technology for users with disabilities.
Individuals at MU are ultimately responsible for any infringing software on their computers or devices or for violating the terms and conditions of software licenses. Individuals are responsible for reviewing the Acceptable Use Policy on the UM System website.
