  • Reading a raw data file with the DATA step:

  • Navigating the SAS windowing environment:
    • defining the SAS windowing environment
    • identifying the three primary SAS programming windows
    • editing and executing SAS code
    • saving and retrieving SAS code
  • Creating a list report with a PROC step:
    • planning to create a list report
    • coding to create a list report

Prerequisites: Knowledge of file management and mouse skills

  • Creating a variable with the DATA step:
    • defining an assignment statement

    • defining a statistical report

SAS Base Programming Certification, Parts I and II

Prepare for the globally recognized SAS Base Programming credential.

In this intensive, ten-day program will take you through all the material necessary to pass the SAS Base Programming Certification Exam. Instruction will include hands-on exercises designed to facilitate understanding of all the topics covered on the exam. The class is comprised of two parts.

There is a $25 textbook fee associated with each class. The fee will be charged to your account after your attendance in the class.

Upon completion of this five-day course, the student will be able to:

  • Read raw data files and SAS data sets
  • Write results to SAS data sets
  • Subset data
  • Combine multiple SAS files
  • Create SAS variables

SAS Base Programming Certification, Part II:

Upon completion of this five-day course, the student will be able to:

  • Manage SAS data set input and output
  • Work with different data types
  • Manipulate data
  • Use the DATA step to control SAS data set input and output
  • Combine SAS data sets
  • Summarize data
  • Process data iteratively with DO loops and arrays
  • Perform data manipulations and transformations.

SAS: Enterprise Guide Introduction

This course is designed for persons who are not programmers but need to access, manage, and summarize data from different sources, and present results in tables and graphs. This course focuses on using the menu-driven tasks in SAS Enterprise Guide, the point-and-click interface to SAS, to create queries and reports.

Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to:

  • Access and manipulate data
  • Create simple queries
  • Create frequency and tabular reports
  • Create static and interactive graphs

Prerequisites: Knowledge of file management and mouse skills
