Retiree Access IT

Retiree Access IT

The Division of Information Technology's Retiree Access IT Program offers MU retired faculty and staff a way to maintain their University email address and continue to take advantage of IT Training and Tech Support services.

  • Continue to use your University email.
  • Take advantage of Tech Support, including phone, online, and Live Chat! In addition, Tech Support Walk-up services are located at TigerTech in the lower level of The Mizzou Store.

Note: If you are leaving the University with Emeriti standing, as designated by the MU Provost office, you are eligible to keep your email account automatically. You do not need to enroll in the Retiree Access IT Program.

Every year around your enrollment (retirement) date, you will receive an email about your account eligibility. You MUST respond to this email to keep your account, including email, active. If you do not respond, your account will be terminated and your mailbox will be deleted.

Here is an example of the email you will receive:

Subject:  Your University Account Is Scheduled To Be Deleted

University records indicate that your account, SSOID, no longer meets our account eligibility requirements. Therefore, Division of IT has scheduled your central electronic resource to be locked on [DATE] and deleted on [DATE].

In addition, you will be required to participate in the annual faculty & staff password change. Regular password changes are one line of defense against unauthorized access.

There is no charge for the Retiree Access IT program but you must enroll.

We suggest that you enroll within 30 days of separation from the University to keep your existing university account. You can enroll after the 30-day period; keep in mind, however, that your account contents, including email, might not be available.

Enrollment may not be available to retirees if the University retains the account for business purposes.
