Research Computing is Upgrading

We are pleased to announce the acquisition of new hardware from Dell and Advanced Clustering Technologies to support an upgrade to the Lewis cluster and as a part of the recently announced NSF MRI Experimental Cluster. The cluster upgrade will give our HPC system a much needed hardware and software refresh.

As a part of this upgrade our policies will be updated to improve service and to accommodate the new environment. The transition to the new environment and policies will complete sometime in March, 2015, and we expect to run both systems simultaneously for some time before that. This transition time will allow users to migrate to the new environment and for us to provide training to help users with this process.

This is an exciting time for us and we look forward to bringing new capabilities online soon to help better serve your research computing needs.
