Zabbix Monitoring

Zabbix is enterprise-level software designed for monitoring availability and reporting performance of IT infrastructure components.

Zabbix is enterprise-level software designed for monitoring availability and reporting performance of IT infrastructure components making it possible to gather virtually limitless types of data from the network. Real-time monitoring means that many servers, virtual machines, and network devices can be monitored simultaneously. Along with storing the data, visualization features are available (overviews, maps, graphs, screens, etc), as well as very flexible ways of analyzing the data for the purpose of alerting.

Web monitoring as well as monitoring of VMware virtual machines is possible with Zabbix. Zabbix can automatically discover network servers and devices, as well as perform low-level discovery with methods of automatically assigning performance and availability checks to discovered entities.

Zabbix monitoring service is $4.00 per device per month.

This service is provided for MU departments. Requests must be made by an IT Pro.

Requests for Zabbix Server and Device Monitoring service should be submitted via an email to the Division of IT Metrics & Automation team.    

To facilitate the request process, please include the following information in your email: 

• Contact information including name, email address, phone number and department.
• MoCode for associated monthly charges – please copy MoCode authorized signer on your email submission.
• Type of system(s) you are enrolling:  Windows Servers, Linux Servers, and/or SNMP Devices.
• Preferred timeline for completion of request:  within two weeks*, this month, no preference.
