XHTML Coding

The recommended path through the XHTML series

Following the Creating Web Pages class, you may take the XHTML series of classes, which must be taken in order through XHTML 2: Tables.

Note: You may test out of the Creating Web Pages course within the Online Registration system by attempting to register for XHTML 1 or Dreamweaver 1. In order to skip any other XHTML course, you must make an appointment with a trainer and demonstrate your skill by completing the exercise that is at the end of the course you wish to skip.

Following the XHTML 2: Tables, class you may take the PHP Series of courses.

These classes are available on both PC and Macintosh. If you wish to use a Mac, please inform the instructor when you arrive for the class.

XHTML 1: Links, Graphics & Lists Register
Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to:
  • Change font styles
  • Insert hyperlinks
  • Insert images
  • Insert lists

PREREQUISITES:
Creating Web Pages

XHTML 2: Tables Register
Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to:
  • Code table structure
  • Format tables
  • Modify rows and cells
  • Merge cells

PREREQUISITES:
XHTML 1: Links, Graphics & Lists

XHTML: Includes, Image Maps & Meta Tags Register
Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to:
  • Insert Server Side Includes
  • Create Image Maps
  • Insert Meta Tags
  • Work with Multimedia
  • Secure a Web Site

PREREQUISITES:
XHTML 2: Tables

Formatting with Cascading Style Sheets Register
Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to:
  • Explain Cascading Style Sheets
  • Work with Class and ID Selectors
  • Create Pseudo-Classes and Pseudo-Elements
  • Implement Font Declarations
  • Implement Text Declarations
  • Implement Background Declarations

PREREQUISITES:
XHTML 2: Tables

Page Layout with Cascading Style Sheets Register
Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to:
  • Implement Layout Declarations
  • Alter CSS Positioning
  • Change List Declarations
  • Apply Print Settings
  • Create CSS Rollovers

PREREQUISITES:
Formatting with Cascading Style Sheets
