MeetingPlace Audio and Web Conferencing

Questions & Answers

What is MeetingPlace Conferencing?

MeetingPlace Conferencing (MPC) is an integrated audio and Web conferencing service that allows schedulers to organize conferences from a Web interface or through Outlook scheduling. MPC offers whiteboarding, application sharing, desktop sharing, screenshots, recording and many other powerful collaboration features.

Who benefits from the service?

Anyone who regularly schedules or attends audio or Web conferences will find MPC very convenient and easy to use.

Why would I use MPC over other commercial products?

  • MPC is hosted on the MU campus so it provides more security features than Internet-based services. Schedulers have a variety of security options including the ability to limit participants to the MU network.
  • MPC is the only audio conference service provided to MU users that is integrated with Outlook, thus making scheduling of audio conferencing resources and participant calendars much easier.

What do I need to do to get started using MPC?

Is there training available?

There are several training resources available on the Web scheduling page under the heading "E-learning Modules."

How much does it cost?

Check the main MPC page for current pricing.

Who can schedule meetings?

To schedule a meeting, a user must be a member of a scheduling group. To become a scheduler fill out the account request form or call (573)882-2000.

Does MPC have any operating system or browser requirements?

MPC does not depend upon a specific operating system or browser. The only requirement is your computer must be running Adobe Flash 7 or higher.

What if I have technical questions about MPC?

Please review the MPC user guide. If you have technical questions, call the IT Help Desk at (573)882-5000, or check the IT KnowledgeBase MPC topics.
