Software Request Form

Instructional software may be requested for installation in the computing sites. There are many computing sites located across the Columbia campus in general access, classroom and residence hall environments, so please review the Web pages for each computing site you desire as an installation location. Site hours, software and hardware are subject to change.

Guidelines

  • The Division of IT is responsible for installing the software in the computing sites.
  • Division consultants are responsible for basic support, such as logging on to site machines and printing.
  • The instructor/visiting group is responsible for purchasing legal copies of the software and providing proof of site license.
  • The instructor/visiting group is responsible for teaching students how to use the software program.
  • Instructors/visiting groups using the program are encouraged to schedule time in a teaching facility to demonstrate the program to their students.
  • The owner of the license is responsible for installing and troubleshooting the program/license on his/her personal computer.
  • Software that requires hardware locks will not be approved.
  • Software requests that require changes to the operating system or base software configuration may be denied.
  • Software requests must be resubmitted every semester (school year duration must be resubmitted every summer).
  • Instructors/visiting groups must allow at least two weeks for testing and installation after approval has been confirmed.

Non-University groups wanting to access computing site resources must be sponsored by a University department or college/school. If you are a member of a non-University group, please include information in this field for the sponsoring department or college/school along with the sponsoring contact person and their phone number, campus address, and e-mail address.
