What is a Mizzou TigerCard?
Your Mizzou TigerCard is your student ID card. It has many uses, including entry into your residence hall, eating in the dining halls, and charging purchases at the Bookstore or TigerTech.
Where do I get my TigerCard?
At the ID Office, located downstairs in the University Bookstore. Summer Hours are Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-4 p.m. A government-issued photo ID is required (driver's license, passport, or state ID) as proof of identity to get your TigerCard.
What happens if I lose my TigerCard?
Anyone who finds it can use it, so report a lost ID immediately to (573)882-1871. You will have to have a new photo taken for your replacement ID.

Computing at MU

Am I required to bring a computer?
No. Bringing a computer is a matter of preference. There are more than 50 computing sites available across campus for student use. If you do bring a personal computer, there are minimum hardware and software requirements for using the campus networks and free MU-Ready software.
Should I bring a laptop or a desktop computer?
It's a matter of personal convenience. Consider mobility and room size. If you bring a laptop, be sure to get a lock for it.
Where can I buy a computer to use at MU?
You can purchase a computer anywhere for use at MU, but TigerTech's computer bundles are frequently the best deal. TigerTech, the computer store in the University Bookstore, carries educationally priced computers, peripherals, and software.
Do I register my personal computer?
Yes. You must register all computers, networked devices, and gaming systems to use them on MU's network. You will be prompted to register online in the fall.
Where can I have my computer repaired?
Personal computers can be brought to the Service Desk at TigerTech for repair. The Service Desk can help you on a walk-up basis with basic issues. If there is a problem that involves more than a "quick fix," it can be checked into the service department to be repaired by certified technicians.
If I do bring my computer, what software should I have?
Windows: Windows XP or Vista; Microsoft Office 2007. Mac: Macintosh OS 10.4 or 10.5; Microsoft Office 2008. Consult Let Your Major Be Your Guide, available at TigerTech, for recommendations particular to your major.
