Division of IT: ID Cards
ID Card FAQ and SupportFrequently Asked QuestionsI am a new faculty or staff member and I need a TigerCard. What is the process? To obtain a TigerCard, go to the ID Card Office located inside University Bookstore and present a valid photo ID, your employee ID number, and a completed ID Request Form. For security reasons, a Mizzou TigerCard will not be issued without an employee ID number and a photo ID. See your departmental payroll administrator if you do not know your employee ID number. I am a new employee. How can I get a TigerCard? Complete and print the ID request form, if you like, and bring it to the ID Office. Be sure your employee ID number is in the PeopleSoft database, and bring your employee ID number and a current photo ID (driver's license or passport). If you do not know your employee ID number, or if it is not in the PeopleSoft database, wait for a few days or contact your payroll administrator. For security purposes, we are unable to issue an ID card unless your emplid is in the Peoplesoft database and you produce one of these forms of identification. I work at the University Hospital and Clinics. Should I get a TigerCard? If you work mostly at UHC, you will need their hospital badge only. If you need it to be active for campus uses (pharmacy payroll deduct or Rec Center access), you should have it encoded with your emplid in the Hospital HR Dept. If you are taking classes, your applicable student privileges will be added to your hospital ID card. Do I need a TigerCard and my hospital badge? No. Hospital employees should use Hospital badges only. If you get a TigerCard, it will render your Hospital badge useless, so it is futile to get a TigerCard. If you have questions regarding your hospital badge, contact the hospital human resources department at (573)882-8186.TigerCard ReplacementShould an ID card become unusable or broken due to normal wear and tear, bring it to the ID Office and it will be replaced at no cost. "Normal wear and tear" is determined by ID Office staff. Protect that magstripe! Scratches will render it useless and the replacement card will cost $20. Because of the privileges associated with an MU ID, it is imperative that lost cards be reported immediately by calling (573)882-1871 (882-2050 after 5 p.m. or on weekends). To prevent fraudulent charges in the Bookstore, please cancel your ID by calling 884-2159. Reporting a lost card will prevent unauthorized charges to an account. Replacement of lost ID cards incurs a $20 fee.Visiting Faculty and StaffThe ID office will issue cards for visiting faculty and staff if their sponsoring department files a zero-pay personnel action form with the payroll department. This will register the employee and validate their card to be used in the library and campus facilities' door access system. For security purposes, we are unable to issue an ID card unless your emplid is in the Peoplesoft database and you produce one of these forms of identification.Outside Vendors or ContractorsIf you are not paid by the University of Missouri but are working on campus, an ID card will be issued to you for door access and general identification. The ID office will issue cards for visiting faculty and staff if their sponsoring or leasing department files a zero-pay personnel action form with the HR department. This will register the employee and validate their card to be used in the campus facilities' door access system. Courtesy PAFs are low priority, so they should be completed well in advance.
