Web hosting allows students, faculty/staff, and departments to develop and upload web pages. To learn about no-charge courses for developing Web pages, see Web Design Training.

All web hosting services offered by the Division of IT include the following:

Web server configurations that provide redundancy and fail-over in case of hardware failures or disasters to keep your web site downtime to a minimum.
System monitoring available 24 hours per day, 7 days a week.
Access to technical staff training in Internet Administration to assist with troubleshooting and consulting.
Nightly tape backup and restore — all web servers administered by the Division are backed up to tape.

Service Changes in 2007

Beginning January 1, 2007, all requests to http://www.missouri.edu/~pawprint/ will be automatically redirected to http://web.missouri.edu/~pawprint/. This redirection will be in effect until December 31, 2007, after which www.missouri.edu addresses will no longer work. Departments using Bengal web hosting should be aware of this redirection and begin using the new URL style for links, print items, and other marketing materials. Departments using Bengal web hosting are also encouraged to move to one of the hosting options listed on this page.

Availability and Fees

Departments

Departmental or organizational web sites receive a no-charge quota of 200 MB; any space utilized above the no-charge quota will be billed to departmental MoCode beginning January 2008. Departments should work with the Division of IT to migrate to content-managed web sites by the end of 2007. Please see the departmental web hosting page for more information.

Faculty/Staff

Columbia campus faculty/staff and Extension staff receive a no-charge web hosting/file storage quota of 200 MB; additional space is available for $2 per 500 MB per month. Any space needs above the no-charge quota are billable to departmental MoCode.

Use the Bengal account request tool to subscribe.
Use the Bengal service change form to increase (or decrease) your Bengal quota or to terminate your Bengal account.
To check your web hosting space usage, use the MyPawPrint tool.

MU Students

Bengal provides 200 MB of no-charge space per student for web hosting, file storage, statistical analysis, programming and other resources. Additional Bengal space is available for a monthly charge of $2 per 500 MB per month, charged to student accounts. Please see the student web hosting
