Virtual Server Service
Virtual Server Service provides a virtual Linux or Windows server for departments with web or application hosting needs. Virtual Server Service offers high availability in a production data center environment, a managed lifecycle, and predictable costs. Administer the virtual server without the headaches of purchasing and maintaining your own physical box, or you can optionally let us administer the server for you. Virtual Server Service enables users to deploy a new server quickly and without investing in new hardware; streamline software development and testing by allowing developers to create multiple environments with different operating systems; and migrate existing physical servers to a virtual environment with minimal effort and downtime.
Fees
- Virtual server hosting: $25/9 GB/month
- System administration (optional): $3,000/year for each virtual server
- Tape backup and restore (optional): $5.70/GB/year
- Assistance with application migration (optional): $75/hour
Obtaining Service
To obtain Virtual Server Service, please submit a Virtual Server Service request form. You will need a MoCode to obtain service. Contact your Departmental IT Professional or call (573)882-5000 for more information. Use the service change or service cancellation forms to modify or terminate Virtual Server Service.
