- 350-400 MB — You cannot send e-mail.
- Over 400 MB — You cannot send or receive e-mail.
Students

- 40-45 MB — Warning: Your mailbox has exceeded one or more size limits set by your administrator.
- 45-50 MB — You cannot send e-mail.
- Over 50 MB — You cannot send or receive e-mail.

Maximum Message Size
The maximum message size for all users is 50 MB. This applies to both inbound and outbound messages.
E-Mail Quota Management Tips
- Check your e-mail quota usage regularly with the MyPawPrint tool.
- Make sure all items get permanently deleted. The content of your Deleted Items folder counts against your quota until those files are permanently deleted.
- Regularly archive messages to save mailbox space. This allows e-mail to be saved on your hard drive or other storage device. This is also a good way to backup your mailbox before leaving the University.
- If you must send a document or image, immediately remove the attachment from your Sent items and save it to another space, such as virtual storage, an USB drive or hard drive.
- Rather than sending large attached files via e-mail, place documents, images, etc. on the Web or on file servers, then send a link to the file.
- Some elements that allow personalization of e-mail can use valuable space. Removing stationery and electronic image files can significantly increase mailbox space.
Please refer to the IT KnowledgeBase for specific space-management instructions for Webmail, Outlook, and other e-mail clients.
