Online Departmental Directory Frequently Asked Questions

What is ODD?

MU's Online Departmental Directory (ODD) provides 24-hour access to MU's departmental and office information that was historically found in the Office Addresses and Telephone Numbers section of the MU's annual Student, Faculty & Staff Directory. You can find information, not only for the MU campus, but UM System & University Health Care as well.

Why is there an ODD?

ODD was developed to provide better customer service to MU customers. It also provides the ODD editors the opportunity to update information at any time.

Where is the ODD?

The ODD can be found at http://mu-webapps.missouri.edu/oddsearch/oddsearch.

To search for a University department, simply enter the department's name in the Search box, then click Go.

Who uses the ODD?

Anyone can use ODD to find departmental and office information. ODD is available 24 hours a day.

Who updates the information found in the ODD?

Each department is responsible for keeping its own listing up to date through a designated departmental ODD Editor. Contact your office's editor and ask him or her to update your listing.

Who do I contact to become my department's designated editor?

If your department does not currently have an editor, or if your department's editor is no longer with your department, choose a new editor and notify the Division of IT or Sue Richardson with Publications to request editing permissions.

You will need to provide your name, PawPrint/SSO ID, and the name of your department. If your department has an out-of-date editor, you will need to request removal of editor permissions for that person as well. You will be notified when your editor's access has been set up, usually within 24 hours.

Who do I call if I have a problem with the ODD?

If you are experiencing a problem with the application (i.e., receiving any type of error message while trying to update your listing), call the IT Help Desk at (573) 882-5000.

If you are experiencing a problem logging into the ODD...

  • Verify you have editor's permissions by contacting the Division of IT at (573)882-2000 or Sue Richardson with Publications at (573)882-5915.
  • If you have verified your permissions and are still experiencing a problem, contact the IT Help Desk at (573) 882-5000. Inform the Help Desk agent that you are experiencing problems accessing the ODD using your PawPrint/SSO ID and password and that you have verified your editor permissions. You will be required to go to the Division of IT Outpost, located at 615 Locust St., if you have forgotten your PawPrint/SSO ID.

When do I update my department's ODD listing?

As a departmental ODD Editor, you can access the ODD 24 hours a day, seven days a week to update your listing. It is best to update your listing any time there is a change within your department so that ODD users can find the the most current information about your department.

It is important that your department's information be current by mid-to-late summer each year so that your listing can appear in the printed version of the upcoming year's annual Student, Faculty & Staff Directory. You will be notified each year by the Office of Publications of the impending deadline. If your department does not appear in the ODD by the deadline, it will not appear in the printed version of the directory.

How do I enter or update my department's information?

  • Contact your office's editor and ask him/her to update your listing.
