Cordless Telephones and Headsets
The Division of Information Technology does not stock any type of cordless telephone. The Division is responsible for repair problems with the actual line but not the cordless telephone. Repair calls on lines with cordless telephones that end up being an actual equipment problem will incur charges at the existing labor rate.
For cordless telephone needs, departments are responsible for purchasing their own equipment. Since 2.4 GHz cordless telephones use the same frequency as 802.11 wireless devices and interfere with the wireless signal, they are not allowed on campus. Cordless telephone headsets that use the 2.4 GHz frequency are also prohibited. 900 MHz, 5.8 GHz, and 1.9 Ghz (DECT 6.0) cordless telephones or headsets are acceptable alternatives.
